Part-time, work-from-home patient call center job with Advocate Health. Answer patient calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and route urgent calls to nurses. Only a high school diploma is required; healthcare or call center experience is preferred, not required. Pays $21.85 to $32.80 an hour, with benefits.
About the Role
Advocate Health is hiring a part-time (20 hours a week), benefits-eligible Patient Access & Care Team (PACT) Representative for its Illinois/Wisconsin operations. You will be the first point of contact for patients and partners calling Advocate Aurora, helping with scheduling, insurance, refills, and general questions and documenting each call in the electronic medical record. The paid training class starts November 30, and all of it is mandatory. Advocate asks that you apply only if you want a long-term part-time schedule, because the role is not expected to become full time.
What You Will Do
- Answer inbound patient calls and make follow-up calls when needed
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
- Collect and verify demographic and insurance information, and collect co-pays or balances when needed
- Enter medication refill requests, page providers, and give general information
- Spot urgent calls and transfer them right away to a registered nurse for triage
- Keep accurate records in the electronic medical record and help with faxing, logs, and reports
What You Need
- High school diploma
- No license or certification required
- Healthcare experience preferred; call center or other customer service experience preferred
- Basic computer skills and the ability to use a multi-line phone system
- Clear verbal communication and good attention to detail
- Basic medical terminology is helpful but not required

Part time, 20 hours a week, benefits eligible. Training starts November 30: either 3 weeks full time (Mon-Fri 8 AM-5 PM CT, preferred) or 5 weeks part time (Mon-Fri 8 AM-12 PM CT). After training, set first-shift schedules. Pay range $21.85 to $32.80 an hour.
