Job Description:
Remote healthcare scheduling job with Carilion Clinic for people in 12 Southern states. Schedule patient referrals, tests, and procedures, check insurance and authorization requirements, and enter patient information. Monday-Friday, mainly 8am-5pm. Associate degree or 4 years of experience required. Pay $17.39 to $24.35 an hour.
About the Role
Carilion Clinic is hiring a Referral Coordinator to work remotely. The job is 100% focused on referrals and authorizations: scheduling patient visits, tests, procedures, and surgeries, checking insurance and authorization requirements, and keeping medical records up to date. You will be a resource for patients, doctors, office staff, and outside agencies as part of Carilion's centralized referral team.
What You Will Do
- Schedule all referral requests on time, including visits, testing, procedures, and surgeries
- Enter insurance, demographic, and eligibility information accurately
- Verify referral and authorization requirements are met
- Give excellent customer service to patients, staff, and coworkers
- Help with data entry, medical record review, and reports
- Complete referral coordinator Epic classes and take part in ongoing training
What You Need
- Associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education, or 4 years of experience
- Healthcare practice experience preferred
- Virginia MLTSS (UAI) certification, required to complete orientation
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent communication and organization skills
Location & Pay
Remote for people in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, or Virginia. Full time, Monday to Friday, mainly 8am to 5pm. Pay $17.39 to $24.35 an hour, based on qualifications and experience.
