Work-from-home customer service and claims role with Highmark (union position) for residents of Western New York. HS diploma plus 1 year of customer service. $22.81/hour.
About the Role
Highmark Inc. is hiring a work-from-home Service Representative for its high-volume contact center. This is a union (OPEIU Local 153) position. You will answer questions from members, providers, and groups, and process and adjust claims, including other-party-liability and coordination-of-benefits cases.
What You Will Do
- Answer incoming and outbound calls and correspondence from members, providers, and groups
- Research claim benefits, eligibility, and coordination of benefits
- Process and adjust claims in the corporate claims system
- Research possible subrogation and overpayment cases
- Keep member information confidential under HIPAA
What You Need
- High school diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service, contact center, or healthcare experience (claims, adjusting, or membership processing)
- 2 years of high-volume call center experience preferred
- Clear, professional, and empathetic communication
- Residence in one of the eligible Western New York counties
Location & Pay
Work from home. Under the union contract, you must live in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, or Wyoming County, New York. The starting rate for new employees is $22.81 per hour, set by the OPEIU Local 153 collective bargaining agreement.
